Information and Updates

Information:  I have found a GREAT way to do my posts! I found this free program called window live writer It puts the program onto my computer and I can blog without going online. I like this because it is easier to add links (all the green words in this post), videos, pictures, and fun things like clipart. It also saves my posts on my computer in a folder. This is perfect for me since I have turned this blog into a journal.

Updates: Yesterday at church Alexis decided she wanted to join in with the singing. It was pretty funny, when we would sing she would sing, when we would stop she would stop. She got pretty loud at times!

MCj04281070000[1]She also said uncle tony “ta ta” she would also point to him when she would say it. Then when we got home, she was laying on the floor, staring up. She then very slowly lifted her pointer finger and said “ta ta,” I looked up and sure enough she was pointing to uncle Tony’s picture on her family tree!

I have started seeing another new doctor. I have seen so many specialist throughout my life and they keep treating me for things that do not seem to fit and certainly do not help. This doctor works more holistically and uses  applied kinesiology to figure out what nutrients I am missing. Anyway, he is the first person to actually listen to me and paid attention to ALL of my symptoms. I was a little hesitant to see him, but I have heard great things, so I decided to give him a shot. Really, What do I have to loose? I have started treatment, with certain supplements and I just hope and pray it helps. I really don’t know how much more I can take.  MCj04258020000[1] I guess that is all for now, I am going to make one of my favorite teas now… Raspberry Mint!

Birthday Blessings!

MCj04258120000[1] Yesterday we celebrated the babies 1st birthday. It seems like just yesterday I was longing for the opportunity to have children. Now, not only do I have two amazing babies, but they are a year old!!!

I remember, March 26th 2008 so vividly! I woke up in the morning, did my normal routine (bed rest routine was get up, go to the bathroom, fill up my water bottle, go back to bed, and do contraction and blood pressure monitoring ). Around 10am, I received a phone call from the nurse department saying I needed to redo my contraction monitoring because I had 10 contractions in one hour. I said, it was accurate I felt them! Then they asked about my blood pressure. I wearily told them it was 154/113. They told me to retest immediately with them on the phone. I then reported I had already checked it 3 times and it was all the same. About 5 minutes later, I got a call from my doctors office telling me to head off to the hospital. I called Justin and told him the news. Thinking about the information from the last ultrasound, Justin took the rest of the day off of work, came home and took me and my bag to the hospital. Once we were at the hospital, I was not allowed to eat or drink until they decided what we were going to do. Doctor after doctor after doctor came in and asked me the same questions. By 6pm the last doctor announced we would not be having the babies tonight. Hence, I demanded Justin to run over to Sonic and get me a huge Ice Tea and some tator tots!! After he left, the doctor returned and  seemed very upset, spouting out “You didn’t tell me one of the babies was an IGR baby!!! Dr. Schwartz will be here in 5minutes to deliver the babies! Why didn’t you notify me of this??” Oh man, did I want to shout “CAN’T YOU READ MY CHART??? I TOLD EVERYONE AND NO ONE CARED!!!” However, I was more overwhelmed about the fact, I would not be getting my tea and tots!

10:33pm Alexis Rose was born! 1st hold

4lbs 11oz!

10:35pm After much laughter, pulling and tugging, Jeremiah Brian was born!

3lbs 4oz

I heard Jeremiah cry first, shortly after I heard Alexis cry… music to my ears!

I was lucky enough to get to see Jeremiah and give him kisses. But I had to wait until the next day to see Alexis.  Above are my first moments with the babies. Justin, my parents, brother & sister were able to see them in the NICU.

Justin and I were so very blessed to have 2 very early, yet very healthy babies born. Jeremiah, the growth restricted baby was the delight of the hospital. Doctors were amazed at how the little guy was so strong. His doctor said “This baby isn’t premature, he’s just little!” The babies were 7weeks premature, but because of the grace of God they were born as healthy as a full term baby. Actually, if we would have waited much longer, Jeremiah may not have survived inside of me. His cord was too small and he had stopped growing. Nurse after nurse would ask us “what did you do right” or say “I wish all the babies did this good” We proudly gave all the Glory to God! All things are possible for those who believe… We had faith that someday we would be blessed with children, and God provided… Thank you Jesus for OUR gifts and we celebrate this Birthday with gratefulness and thanksgiving!j0434399

j0428069Because this is such a huge blessing, to us we wanted to share it with everyone. We invited over 50 people to the party. And made tons  of food. Only about 20 people showed up… so now we have lots of left-over's. But, it was a great day and I look forward to this next year.

Too Much Costco??

Today we went to Costco to get the rest of the food for the birthday party tomorrow. As usual before we left we stopped to get lunch at the food court. Alexis watched daddy walk away to the window. She pointed to da-da then pointed to her mouth. Yikes! I’m pretty sure she knew  what she was doing. That’s a little scary that a baby knows Costco means food. Maybe that’s why they were not cranky while we were shopping, they knew food was coming!

MONKIES!

Monkey Get in Trouble Too!

mokey get in trouble too

After I put the kids to bed this evening, I could hear high pitched squeals followed by laughter. Then again, Then again. What is going on in there??? It didn't sound like they were upset, so I ever so quietly tip toed through the hallway and peeked into the bedroom.

If you can guess what they were doing, I will give you a whole dollar that you can spend as you like!!!

They were playing peek-a-boo with their blankets: hence the squeal, then tossing their stuffed animals over into the neighboring crib: the laughter. I could not believe my eyes!!

"Excuse me... children... you should be sleeping" I announced as I was desperately trying to contain my laughter. As soon as they heard and saw me, they began bouncing and belly laughing.

I have to say... this is one of the moments that makes all the hard work of worth it!!

Shot update

AZ Pain Center/Shot Update: I just thought I would let you know that yesterday I had my second round of shots in my spine. It was terrible!! I was in an extreme amount of pain and then had to stop because my pulse was too high and oxygen level was too low. This morning I could barely get out of bed. I have been taking strong pain pills, but it’s not working. Let’s hope this actually starts to help. Fun! Fun!!MCj04258080000[1]

Cute?

Before the babies were born, Justin and I were walking through Costco. Justin stopped at one of the baby clothes table and picked up a yellow dress. He asked me “Do you think my baby girl would look cute in this?”

I of course responded “yes,” even though I was thinking about the color. I don’t really like the color yellow. I really would have picked the blue one with the purple whale. But daddy picked this out for his unborn daughter, and that was so special and sweet!

Here she is a year later….

So do you think his baby girl looks cute in it?

Attitude!

Ok, so we have been spring cleaning for about a month now. (had to take some time off when we were all sick) Last night Justin brought in about 6 huge boxes for me to go through. Alexis loves taking things out of boxes, so I got a lot of help in that area(ha!).  So needless to say, Our house was pretty much trashed last night.

Anyway, As I was in the kitchen cutting up fruit and vegetables to put in the dehydrator. I noticed things were a bit to quiet. So I looked over the counter and saw my little daughter stuffing her mouth full of GUM! Ahhhh! Once I started running over to her, she got anxious, turned away from me and quickly stuffed as many more pieces as she could before I could get to her. Luckily for me, the wrappers were still on the 7 pieces of gum she had in her mouth! Once I took the gum out of her mouth and the package away from her, the attitude came out. She started to cry… the silent type. You know that long pause when a child is really hurt, well, my child does it when she’s really mad. After the long drawn out, breathless, silent scream, the water works began. She started screaming and then threw her head down against the tile floor. I’m sure that hurt, but I was not about to console her with “oh poor baby.” This little attitude of hers is happing more and more when things don’t go her way. It’s actually pretty funny. Was going to get a picture of her to post, but like I said the house was so messy, I couldn’t find my camera.

(Update: The house looks great now!! Stayed up until 2am to finish it!)

I’ve Been Tagged

I’ve been tagged by Alesha !!!

Here are  5 Random Things about Me:

1) I have 27 different musical instruments!

2) I love lefties! I have always been attracted to lefties. Why? I have no idea. There is just something about it. I myself am technically right handed. However, I would categorize myself as ambidextrous. I do everything with my Left hand: pour coffee, hold babies (when I just have one) brush my teeth, draw blood, I even eat with my left hand sometimes. Here are a few famous people I’ve noticed that are left handed: Bruce Willis, Matt Dillion, Dennis Quaid, Drew Barrymore, Goldie Hawn, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Dick Van Dyke, Robert Redford, Mark Wahlberg, Diane Keaton, Demi Moore. (oh and by the way, my hubby is a leftie! :)

3) I have always wanted, dreamed of and even planned on having boy and girl twins! When I was a kid I had twin dolls: Buddy & Lovey Noel (yes, I named them)

4) I just shed a 13inch long grey hair! I have a lot of them now.

5)To quote a line from the movie ‘What About Bob’ “Simplest way to put it…I have problems” I have so many weird and different certificates. None of which really go together. I can’t decide what to make of myself. I have a scuba certificate, phlebotomy certificate, small group guided reading certificate, special needs awareness cert., modification and adaptations in the classroom for children with special needs  cert., Organizing and Managing Small groups cert., Psychology for families with children with special needs cert., Understanding Special Needs & Learning disabilities cert., black and white photography cert., CNA certification, and a couple more that I can’t remember the names of.

Okay, there are my 5 random things… now I pass it on to 5 more.

Birthday Shopping

Today, I went out shopping for the kids. I was a little overwhelmed in the toy store. So many toys!!! Looking at what I ended up getting, I noticed most were the same things Justin and I played with as kids. The basic toys are still the best! I am getting ready for the big day. I have the gifts, decorations, and some of the food. The only thing I am not ready for… is them turning 1 year old. I am not ready for my babies to grow up.

Sneak Peak: The kids are getting about 10books each of the Mr. Men and Little Miss Books. I am so excited! I loved these when I was a kid

Mr. Birthday loves birthdays. His favorite part is the party. He thinks cards are nice, presents are good, but parties are great! Mr. Happy tells him not to forget about a party he knew nothing about!

Little Miss Birthday is part of the Little Miss series of books. Little Miss Birthday loves birthdays just like her brother, Mr. Birthday.

AZ Pain Centers

I have started some new treatments with  AZ Pain Centers – Home The last few years have been difficult. Recently I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The doctors said I would be lucky if they could decrease my pain by 30%. However, AZ Pain Center believes, they expect ALL my pain will be resolved. I have started getting injections near my spine, to help promote my body to naturally heal. I have also gone off medications and started a natural approach with vitamins and herbal remedies. Along with those, I doing Yoga to try and strengthen my muscles and spine. Wish me luck… so far no difference, but I will let you know!

Custom Blog

I really love looking at blogs that are custom. I would love mine to be so neat, but have not been able to do it myself. subjectivebeauty however is doing a give away. Just go to Punky Monkeys for all the details!

SICK & TIRED

Update on Jeremiah's biting... he bites to show approval and disapproval! I've noticed that kissing has turned to biting. So at times he tries to chomp on his sister because he loves her! So during those times we use the words "gentle" to correct him, but when he gets frustrated and bites out of anger, we use a different approach!

Alexis has always had issues with not being able to keep liquids down. So Wednesday, when she threw up after her milk cup, I didn't think much of it. Thursday morning, when I got her out of bed she had a little more spit up on her clothes, so I changed her and went on with the day. When nap time rolled around, I noticed under all of her blankets she must have thrown up several times through out the night (no wonder the room was stinky!). I changed her sheets and put her down for a nap. Just a few minutes later, my sister-in-law and niece came over. The dog barked and woke up the kids. So I returned to their room and noticed now Alexis made another huge mess, that required me to change the sheets yet again. However, this mess came out the other end. Yuck! Friday, is here, and brother is not eating his breakfast and is super cranky. So daddy takes him, and sure enough... JB started tossing his cookies too. Daddy got it right in the mouth, down his shirt, pants, & shoes!! Friday afternoon, Mommy started in on the fun. And at 2 am, daddy joined by sitting on the toilet with a bucket in his lap! We did not feel good! All day Saturday, was the same. Luckily the kids could keep down some baby formula, so that's all they got for the day. But Justin and I were even having a tough time with water. By the evening I had some rice then some peaches. But by 10pm, those were expelled from my system as well. Today, is Sunday! We all had oatmeal for breakfast. So far, it's still with us. Our tummies are turning but no emergency runs to the bathroom.. so wish us luck! *** We would like to make a formal apology at this time.... We are sorry to Aunt Melanie, Cousin Kaia, and Nanu, who we shared our sickness with***

OK, so the kids have been just admiring the doggy door since they discovered it a couple months ago. Last week I got a video of them. Almost everyday, they watch the dog go out, then they crawl over and stick themselves 1/2 way out. Generally, it's Jeremiah! He is a boy, always into things and exploring. Sister will follow him around and get excited about the things he finds.

A few days after this video, As I was sitting at the desk (next to the dog door) I heard a distant cry from Jeremiah. I knew what happened... yep, he finally made it out the dog door. However, he was not happy about it at all. I went to open the door to let him in, but decided to take a few pictures first. (He hasn't been out since then)

(he wasn't out there for long at all, but look how pitiful he looks... like I left him to fend for himself)

Here is a funny-izm for Alexis....

take a look at http://minilegs.blogspot.com/ she is having some give-a-ways!! (music and handbags! my favorite!)

Biting

On Monday we did a family outing to Costco. When we leave, normally Alexis will grab the receipt and wave it around with giggles and grins. However on this trip, Jeremiah got a hold of the receipt first. Alexis did not like that so much, so she diligently tired to get it away from her brother. Jeremiah being strong willed and smart, put the receipt in his far hand and bent himself over the edge of the cart, so she could not reach. However, Alexis REALLY wanted that receipt so she started climbing on top of him to get it. Jeremiah got so frustrated with her, that he turned towards her and aggressively screamed "ahhhh" in her face. I was amazed of how he reacted, but still had to correct him and tell him to be nice.

Later that evening, a similar episode occurred. Jeremiah found an orange pen and began to wave it around and use it to bang on the table and make noise. (It wasn't hurting anything and keeping him entertained, so I just let him do it)Anyway, Alexis thought that looked like fun, so she began reaching for the pen. I told her "no" that brother was playing with it. But just as the receipt, she REALLY wanted it. And only being 11months old neither of them understand why they can't have it. Well as Alexis persistently tried to take the pen away from Jeremiah, Jeremiah began to get more and more upset. Finally he screamed then, chomped on her arm that was in front of his face. He bit her!! Can you believe it? I was shocked. I immediately grabbed Alexis because she was screaming and had bright red teeth marks in her arm. As I was holding her, I realized I needed to rep remand Jeremiah. I was dumbfounded about the scene that just played out in front of me. I had no idea he would do something like that.

Well, today... every time the little guy gets mad at his sister, he tries to bite her. I keep telling him "no" but I really don't know how to stop this behavior. I can't really say, he's too young to understand discipline, since he's not too young to know how to "show" his anger. Mommy and Daddy will have a lot of work in front of us with this boy.
