My BIGGEST parenting fears!

I have never been too afraid of becoming a parent or raising kids. I however have always had a couple of fears regarding it.

1.) POTTY TRAINING! I am stressed out about this phase. Most everyone I know is potty trained, so I assume it’s not as hard as I am making it out to be. I have always been afraid of this phase… long before I was ever pregnant. I don’t know when to start, how to start, what to do, how to proceed, etc. etc. etc. I started stressing out about this, when my brother was being potty trained (25+ years ago). When each of my friends have potty trained their kids, it seemed to go smoothly but I stress out because what if I can’t teach my kids, and then I have to change diapers at their High School Graduation.

2) MIDDLE SCHOOL… getting into the WRONG crowd… and getting into Drugs! This is a major fear, but for this I at least have a plan.

3) My kids getting married before they find the right person. ( I guess, if I never potty train, I won’t have to worry about this one!)j0078843

4) My biggest fear, is that I will die before my kids are grown. It’s more of a selfish fear I suppose. I want to teach them all the wonderful things this world has to offer. I also want to teach them against all the negative things this world has to offer. My children are such a wonderful gift, and I cherish every moment with them. I do not want to leave them alone, I want to help guide them and get them to the point where they depend on God for their strength and guidance. At that point, I can go, but I don’t want to before then!

Holly, believe me when I say most all mothers have these fears. But along with the gift of motherhood comes the fact that your children have a free will. One may be easy to potty train and one easy to get through middle school. But they will always be your gift as you are mine, and I still cherish my moments with you. We are all God's Children and HE is the real parent.

Potty training wont be near as hard as you expect, trust me... =)
Keep praying about homeschooling, and don't knock it until you've gotten your answer one way or another!

I say diapers forever!!! Ok maybe not, imagine teenage boy dirty diapers...yuck! We all have those same fears, at least some of them we have awhile to ease ourselves into. Although potty training is one we will both have to be facing here before too long...I'm nervous about that one too.

I was pretty nervous myself. my only advice is to take the kids cues on readiness and make sure you are consistent. If you take a break at all or stop it's gonna take longer! The marriage thing is a ways off and the only thing you can do about that is teach them and pray.

I still think by middle school, there's gonna be few options except for doing online classes anyways. It should definitely narrow down their social scene. ha ha

my daughter found the love of her life at 18 divorced at 19 found the second love of her life at 20 has been married almost 10 years..

they are good kids..my oldest won't ever marry because of health reason that breaks my heart.

LMAO on the potty training!! Oh no worries...I got the oldest done just in time for these two to start working on the potty. We all worry my friend...and we will worry later about them working too hard at their job, are they okay on money, are they eating right, enough, too much. We're moms...thats what we do. The eternal worriers!!
