Lime anyone?

Daddy, Babu, and Uncle Tony thought it would be funny to give the kids a taste of lime. It was funny!

Tonto Natrual Bridge

Today Justin had the day off from work, so we decided to take a road trip. The first of many to come. We stopped at Clear Creak to soak our feet in the cool water. Justin and Holly loved it. Alexis got very upset, and Jeremiah was undecided. Afterwards we drove through Strawberry, AZ. and Pine AZ., we took a mini hike through the Tonto Natural Bridge Park. If you have never been there, I recommend you take a day to visit. We plan on going back when the kids can walk and mommy wears something other than sandals. After our little adventures, we stopped at Dairy Queen in Payson... we all enjoyed the ice cream. It was a great family day! Before we were married Justin started calling days like this "HollyDays" but now, we need to come up with something new. Anyway, it was a wonderful day, and we look forward to more days just like this.

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!

Almost 6 months...

The state of Arizona offers a free program for any child that was in the NICU for more than 3 days after birth. This program is an early intervention program. A nurse comes to our home throughout the first 3 years of life. In the beginning she came once a month. Now she is coming every 3 months.

The babies are only 4 1/2 months old (gestational age) and 6 months old actual age. Because the babies were 7 weeks early, the nurse evaluates them as of the gestational age.

Yesterday the nurse came over and played with the babies to see if they were doing everything a 4month old should be doing. As I suspected, they are acting more like a 6month old than a 4 month old. Except Alexis, her fine motor skills are more like a 8-9month old.

I feel so blessed!! I went through so much to get these babies. The ups and downs of infertility is hard to explain unless you go through it yourself. And now, I am so amazed at how perfect they are. They are a huge blessing!! They bring Justin and I so much joy, and we are so very proud of them and all they do.

Each day, I am amazed at how these little ones are growing and learning. A couple of nights ago, I was laying on the floor with the babies. Alexis took my hand in hers and isolated my pointer finger. She took my finger and slowly placed the tip of my finger to the tip of her tongue. Then, she took it away (while still holding on to me). She then placed the tip of her pointer finger to the tip of her tongue. Took her finger away, and pulled my finger back to her mouth and once again touched the tip of my finger to the tip of her tongue. She pulled my finger away again and you guessed it, touched the tip of her finger to the tip of her tongue. She repeated this cycle for at least 10 minutes. She only stopped because she became sidetracked by mommy laughing so hard.

Teeth update

Jeremiah has 2 teeth (both within a couple days), Alexis had her 1st come in on 9/7/08!

Who looks like whom?

From the day I was born, people said I looked like my dad. From the day Justin was born, he was told he looked like his mom. From the day the babies were born, Alexis was told she looks like her mom, and Jeremiah was told he looks like his dad. What do you think, any resemblance??

One year ago today, I found out I was pregnant. I still remember the joy I felt, after 5 years of on and off trying, our prayers were finally answered. And today my answered prayers are 23 weeks old.
